Lottie Moon Christmas Offering
2009 National Goal: $175 Million
Bluff's Church Goal is $1,500.00
The main emphasis on Lottie Moon Christmas Offering is Sunday, December 6th, or you may give throughout the month of December. We will march around and place our Lottie Moon Christmas Offering in a white basket that "Lottie Moon" is holding, and place our gifts wrapped in white under the Christmas tree for the shut-ins. Look for more details in the December issue of the Bluff Banner.
The Bluff Christmas Post Office opens December 1st.
You may give cards to people at church for five cents per card. The money raised will go to a Mission project. The WMU ladies are in charge of the project.
Poinsettias for Christmas 2009
Bluff Avenue Baptist Church has the lovely tradition of decorating the church sanctuary with poinsettias during the Christmas holidays. You may buy one in honor or in memory of a loved one and it will be published in the Bluff Banner in December and January.
We buy from Pleasant Valley Farm, Inc., in Van Buren. They have beautiful poinsettias. We will have the poinsettias in the sanctuary beginning either Sunday, November 29th or December 6th.
Pleasant Valley Farm, Inc. has red, white, and pink poinsettias available, with the following prices:
These prices include taxes. Please make checks payable to Bluff Avenue Baptist Church. Write "Poinsettia" on your check or cash envelope. We need to collect the money by Sunday, November 22nd.
There is a sign-up sheet on the back table in the vestibule. I will order the poinsettias on Monday, November 9th.
Thank You Note
We want to thank you for your many acts of kindness and love at our 50th Wedding Anniversary Party. We were overwhelmed by your presence, cards and gifts. We love you all.
