Things Are Looking UP!!!
Things are looking UP!!! I'm excited about things that are happening here at our church. For example: Bluff Avenue is in the midst of "Roundup Days—Fall Sunday School Attendance Campaign and ROUNDUP REVIVAL." Bro. Ernie and Wanda Perkins will be with us in revival, Sunday through Wednesday, November 8th—11th.The Preschool and Children High Attendance Goal was reached October 18th, with a goal of 30. The Youth almost reached their goal of 30, October 25th, with an attendance of 28. The Adults set their attendance goal of 95 for November 1st. FINALLY, the Over-all High Attendance Goal in Sunday School for our entire church, Sunday, November 8th, is 165.You can help us REACH those goals by simply attending Sunday School yourself. If everyone who is enroled in our Sunday School would simply come at the same time, we would not only meet those goas, but we would dramatically EXCEED those goals. Would you help us DO THAT? We're counting on you.Immediately following the service, there will be an old-fashioned DINNER ON THE GROUNDS. Our church will provide the meat and drinks, and our Hostess Committee requests that yu bring side dishes or a dessert.FRIDAY evening, November 6th, 6:30 P.M., COTTAGE PRAYER MEETINGS FOR REVIVAL will be held in the homes of our people. Jean Thomas, Frank & Carolyn Smith, Bro. James & Jerrie Holt, and Bro. Leroy and Helen French have opened their homes tous. Revival always begins with the people of God.2 Chronicles 7:14 - "If my peoplee, which are called by my name, shall humble themselves, and pray, and seek my face, and turn from their wicked ways; then will I hear from heaven, and wil forgive their sin, and will heal their land." KJVJeremiah 33:3 - "Call unto me, and I will answer thee, and show thee great and mighty things, which thow knowest not." KJVRevival egins when we humble ourselves before God, pray, repent, and do all that we can do to prmote revival. We then trust the Lord to do what He will do. We've watched enough "Westerns" to know about a roundup, but rounding up cattle and people are two entirely different things. So, what can you do?You can begin to pray for the revival services. You can decide to attend every service that you possibly can. You can pray for and invite your friends, relatives, associates, neighbors and complete strangersthat you come into contact with, to attend the revival meeting with you. Let's ask the Lord to move on the hearts of people during this revival meeting. PLEASE remember to move your clock back one hour Saturday night, October 31st. And finally, this very important thing: The annual MEN'S CHILI COOK-OFF will be held Wednesday, November 4th, 6:30 P.M., just before our monthly business meeting.Things are looking UP!!!
